Our Time in Raleigh

I am finally getting around to posting our vacation adventure! We had such a great time! We arrived on Thursday just before dinner time…everyone was at Momma and Daddy’s (Gramma and Papa). It was so nice to be together. Hannah, Nate, and Papa went to the pool to swim after dinner. On Friday everyone was off which was so nice to have the extra time together. Hannah, Nate and I were able to go swimming after breakfast with Jay and Daddy. Momma and Mari came out to the pool to visit and watch Elijah too! For lunch we went to The Q Shack barbecue restaurant for lunch...it was pretty good, although Hannah was tired out and began acting like a 2 year old! After lunch Jay, Sarah and “us” went to this really fun toy store in the same plaza. We didn’t buy much, but got a lot of good ideas for Hannah. Jay bought gross jelly belly-type jelly beans! He ended up chewing really nasty flavors (ie: earwax, rotten eggs, vomit, booger, etc.). It was so funny though…I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! In the afternoon while Hannah napped, Elijah, Mari, and I went to Wal-Mart and a grocery store. It was so nice to spend that time together! When we got back to Momma and Daddy’s, Hannah and Nate joined everyone else in the pool . She just loved being in there with everyone!
On Saturday, We headed to the Crabtree Mall to do a little shopping. I was lookin for a Duke sweatshirt, but couldn't find one! We met back up with everyone at Momma and Daddy's and had a Fourth of July cookout! Hannah and Elijah had very cute outfits on, but of course they got them too dirty before I was able to take a picture! We all headed to Frankie's an arcade/batting cage/go cart/etc. Hannah didn't get a nap because we were there, but did good the rest of the day.
Sunday Nate headed to South Carolina to visit hs brother, leaving me with the kids. The whole day went surprisingly well. We went with Momma and Daddy to a Farmer's Market and had so many good samples of fruits and veggies and took home a lot too! Hannah rode on Momma's walker...kind of like a stroller...while Momma pushed. They both loved it! After lunch we went back to their house and Hannah took her nap while the rest of us visited. Nate came back right before bedtime and we headed back to the hotel. (Thanks again, Mari and Shawn for the car!)
Monday was our last day to do anything in NC, so since everyone else was working, Momma came with us to the "big" mall in Durham. Unfortunately, Nate thought he knew where it was and after an hour and a half we actually arrived! We did have a good time there...we had lunch and Hannah was able to play in a play-place. We also bought cupcakes from a store that only sold cupcakes....very yummy!!! Nate wanted to also find a restaurant on UNC's campus that he had seen on Man vs Food called Time-Out. He wanted their Cheesy Chicken Biscuits. We found it fairly easy and they were good! It was so fun to go somewhere we had seen on TV! Everyone came back to Momma and Daddy's for dinner that night and to say goodbye! Hannah, Momma, and Daddy had a great time laughing and playing that evening before we left. Who would have thought that handmade potholders, Barrel of Monkeys, and a clown nose would be so fun and exciting!
Tuesday we headed back to PA and had an uneventful trip. I am always so thankful and amazed that we caan travel so far without getting stuck in major traffic. God deffinitely hears and answers our prayers!!
